This is Why You Shouldn't Listen to Matthew Hussey

Bold title, right? Hear me out before you get mad.

Happy 2019 baby! Let’s kick the New Year off (I know it’s almost February) with a cold hard truth. Drum roll please...

No one knows what they’re talking about when it comes to love. I know, shocking. But hey, I’m not saying that there aren’t people who give out some helpful advice here and there... especially here, on my dating blog. I’m more so talking about those dating coaches that preach shit like “If it’s the right person at the wrong time, it’s the wrong person.” Because quite frankly, that’s a load of BS.

Who knows if it’s the right person at the wrong time?! Definitely not some dating coach who you’ve never met that sends you reassuring emails every month. I mean yes, it could very well be the wrong person! That dating coach could potentially be onto something in your particular case. But that’s the thing, when it comes to love, it needs to be handled case by case. So my point is, flat out saying that there’s no such thing as right person/wrong time is just a lie.

Let’s use some real life examples, shall we? How about Ashley I and Jared from The Bachelor. Ashley literally pined over this dude for YEARS. She felt as though he was her person and for whatever reason, even though she’s hot and they got along super well, he wasn’t feeling it. FOR YEARS.  Now they are engaged, because for Jared, it was the wrong time. Now it is the right time and they are together. See?! So honestly who tf actually knows.

I mean, don’t get me wrong. It’s not always about it just being the wrong time. Sometimes it is the wrong person. My point? The people who are flat out telling you what is right and wrong when it comes to the unpredictability of men and women in the dating world don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. They can base their advice off past behavior, logic, emotion, sure. But they can’t 100% predict the future.

That being said, I am in no way condoning toxic relationships. If your friends are saying some man in your life is incredibly toxic for you, maybe talk to a therapist and see if they are onto something. Make healthy choices. If someone is not good for you, leave.

Okay, now that you know I’m not telling you to be with a Dirty John, let’s get back to the point. I’ve definitely seen Matthew Hussey give some good advice. I don’t want to rain on his parade or anything because he is a knowledgable guy. I just want to stress to you today that the older I get, the more I’m realizing (-Kylie Jenner) that love is totally unpredictable and you can only advise on a case by case basis. Because every relationship is different.

No one on this planet knows your relationship with someone the way you and that other person in the relationship do. No matter what. So all we can do at the end of the day is follow our guts. Make good choices. Don’t believe absolutely everything Matthew Hussey says.  And continue to read this fun blog because 2019 is the year of SATC baby!
